Woman taken to hospital after truck crashes into bedroom

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

EMS rushed a Lubbock woman to the hospital with serious injuries Friday evening after a pick-up truck crashed into her house.  Authorities say it appears the driver was going the wrong-way down Avenue L near 27th Street.

He veered of the road, crashed through a fence, collided with the porch of a vacant house, and then ran into the bedroom of the home. Police say the victim was in the bedroom at the time.

This all happened around 6:30 p.m.  Neighbors say wrong-way drivers are a problem in that neighborhood.

"I don't know if he was trying to beat the traffic and make it to this stop sign or what, but there's been several cars that come down like that anyway," Donnie Danford said.

No names were released.  Police tell us they do not suspect alcohol was involved.
