Postage rates rising, but not for most letters ‎

If you're planning to make a trip to the post office, it might cost you more. Not to worry, though. The $0.44 basic fee for a first class letter will remain the same.

The new fees will only affect those who have heavier pieces of mail that need to be delivered, such as advertisements and magazines. The $0.44 first class rate will be for the first ounce, but if what is being delivered weighs more, USPS will charge $0.20 per ounce, a $0.03 hike in price.

Mailing a post card will now cost $0.29.
