City inspectors looked closely into the kitchens of more than 30 local and county food establishments this week. We start with the schools that inspectors visited this time. Let's see who's making the grade.
Ballenger Head Start at 1110 40th Street is at the head of the class this time. The cafeteria there receives zero critical violations, making them a Food for Thought Top Performer. Next on the Top Performing list is Parsons Elementary at 2811 58th Street. They also turn in zero critical violations and a perfect score.

This week's Food for Thought restaurant report includes sweets, meats and all night eats.
Our four Top Performers and one Low Performer offer a little bit of everything. Let's start with those on top. From home cooking to beef and burgers to ice cream to grilled cheese and tater tots, whatever your taste buds are craving, they've got it.
Doll House Cafe at 1717 Avenue K gets things started this time with zero critical violations, making them a Food for Thought Top Performer.
You may recognize our next stop as a repeat Top Performer. Haynes Meat Market at 6302 Frankford makes the list again with a perfect score.
The temperatures are dropping, but that doesn't mean you've got to give up your scoops. Kaleidoscoops at 4902 34th Street is our next Top Performer with zero critical violations.
Rounding out the list is America's drive in, Sonic at 1609 Martin Luther King is a brand new restaurant that gets off to a great start with a perfect score on their inspection.
Our only Low Performer this week is Denny's at 607 Avenue Q. They get six critical violations. Violations including:
The Manager at Denny's told NewsChannel 11 she had no comment. The report shows that two violations were corrected on site.
