Multiple crews were called to fight a blaze near Anton Thursday evening. Flames ignited around 7 p.m. just east of town.
Authorities say the fire came within about a mile of one home in the area, but they did not anticipate a major threat. Firefighters, including crews from Anton and Shallowater, continued to battle the blaze Thursday night.
Authorities say dirt roads helped to keep the fire from spreading. A cause has not been released.
