Area Boy Scouts are testing out their driving skills with a new set of wheels. Saturday, the parking lot of Home Depot served as a mini-racetrack for South Plains Cub Scouts.
Dozens of scouts built race cars out of wood and designed them all on their own. The cars raced down a ramp to see how far they could travel. The cars have no motors and rely on mere gravity to push them along and a steering wheel made out of string. This fun activity was one of the tasks cub scouts have to complete to earn their Merit Badges.
