Lubbock Police are investigating two unrelated homicides that occurred early Sunday morning.
The first murder happened just before 1am Sunday. 50-year-old Frank Ramirez was shot and killed in front of his house in the 1300 block of Itasca. Witnesses say they heard multiple shots fired then saw two people run from the house to a nearby car. Police say the vehicle then drove up the street and stopped near the 900 block of North Avenue Q that's when three people got out of the car and ran down a nearby alley. One of the suspects was also injured in the shooting. The 19-year-old collapsed behind the Sportsman Club and is in critical condition. The shooting is under investigation.
The second murder happened sometime before 3am Sunday at a house in the 1800 block of San Jose Dr. When police arrived, they found a 40-year-old man on the living room floor. He had been hit in the head with a beer bottle and was not breathing. He was transported to UMC where he was pronounced dead. Police have arrested 32-year-old Carreon Jose Porales Armador. He is being held at the Lubbock County Jail and has been charged with the murder.
