HOCKLEY COUNTY, TX (KCBD) -
In Hockley County, several departments continued efforts to contain a blaze that started near Pep Friday afternoon. It is in the same area where flames ignited Thursday night.
Crews from several departments, including Halfway, Levelland, Littlefield, and Smyer responded to the intersection of Farm to Market Roads 597 and 303. Authorities report 3,000 acres burned with flames moving east.
Smoke caused extremely poor visibility in the area. No word yet on what sparked this fire.
