LUBBOCK (KCBD) - Texas Tech used a sixth inning grand slam by Jamodrick McGruder to take game two of their Big Twelve Conference series against Kansas.
The Red Raiders jumped out to an early 4-0 lead before Kansas brought the game to a one run contest in the top of the sixth. The grand slam ensued and Tech held form to complete the 9-4 victory.
McGruder went 1 for 3 on the night, including the grand slam. It was his first of his career and his first home run of the season.
The same two teams will square off Sunday at 1 as Tech will look for their first conference sweep of the season.
