Blue Ribbon Rally helps victims of child abuse

April is Child Abuse Awareness Month, and advocates across the South Plains rallied to support victims. Riders and non-riders enjoyed the 13th Annual Blue Ribbon Rally Car and Bike show.

It's the main fundraiser for the Family Guidance and Outreach Center of Lubbock. The fundraiser included a classic car and custom motorcycle fun run. The group raises money through car show fees.

"That we can have classes and educational resources for folks who need help managing their anger and raising them to be strong healthy families," explain Ami Hill-Rendon with the Family Guidance and Outreach Center of Lubbock.

Since the first of the month the group has passed out 40,000 blue ribbons which represent child abuse awareness.

The non-profit works to prevent child abuse and neglect on the South Plains.
