Tech campus full of fun events Saturday

Design students at Texas Tech hit the run-way, showcasing their latest work of art. Design winners were also announced before students walked the cat-walk.

Top designers in women's and men's jeans category received an all expense paid trip to Plains Cotton Cooperative Association's Facility in Guatemala.

The partnership gives students an appreciation for the materials that they work with, good ole west Texas cotton.

Also, across the Hub some local Texas Tech Students with the American Red Cross Club attempted to break the world record Saturday for the largest water balloon fight.

Each balloon cost 25 cents and a one dollar entry free. The current record is 3,927 balloons.

The group hopes to one day break it. "We would definitely like to make this an annual event. It would be a great fund raiser for the red cross as long as we get more support from the Lubbock community and businesses and things like that, we'll definitely be doing it again." says Joseph Peterson whois President of the American Red Cross Club at Texas Tech University.

All money from the fun filled day will go to the Red Cross of the South Plains.
