Lubbock Police say they tracked down a suspect in a more than 20-year-old homicide from a hair left in the victim's bed.
Reynaldo Rey, 48, is accused in the 1989 death of 93-year-old Minnie Elkins. Thursday, a police affidavit, with more details was made public. Authorities interviewed 37 suspects from 1989 to 2004. It wasn't until April 26th of this year that a DNA match linked Rey to the crime. Detectives submitted evidence at the beginning of the year and got a hit on a California database.
