A big election is coming up here in Lubbock. On Friday, the group known as "Progress Lubbock" held a news conference to explain to voters why the November sales tax election is good for economic development; something they say - will benefit everyone.
"The best way to fund that development is through an additional sales tax," said Lisa Pearson, a Cox Communications Employee Relations Consultant. "What that does to the average person is reduces property taxes so it's a win win for everyone."
The proposed 3/8 cents sales tax increase will be decided in an election November 4th.
