Three Monterey High School sophomores were involved in a fatal accident early Saturday morning while returning home from a football game in Odessa.

According to DPS, in Seminole, a 16 year-old female driver was traveling north on highway 385 when she drifted off the side of the road. She then overcorrected and the vehicle flipped end over end at least three times.

Passengers Jannel Aboushadid and Shanna Davis were thrown from the vehicle. Both 15 year-olds were air lifted to Covenant Medical Center.

Aboushadid died Saturday morning. Davis is in very critical condition and is reportedly in a coma. The name and condition of the driver has not been released.

The driver told DPS that another car was involved in the wreck, that is under investigation.
