SUDAN, TX (KCBD) -

After 5 years at Sudan, Jason Cooper is leaving the 1A girls basketball powerhouse to take over at 5A Tascosa.

Cooper has 11 years coaching experience with other stops in Olton and Cotton Center. In the last 5 years with the Nettes, Cooper led Sudan to 5 straight regional tourney appearances and 2 trips to the State Championship, winning the 2009 State title.

Cooper told KCBD NewsChannel 11 it was tough to leave Sudan, but the challenge of leading a 5A program was a good move for him and his family.
