Small plane catches fire at Lubbock airport

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Around 9:30 a.m. Friday, Chaparral Jet Center staff at Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport alerted the airport fire department that there was a small civilian Cessna airplane on fire.

The department quickly extinguished the fire, and the plane's two passengers managed to exit unharmed. The plane had just landed and was exiting the taxiway when the fire started.

The cause of the fire is not know at this time, but NTSB and local authorities are investigating.
