The City of Lubbock's Parks and Recreation staff is again transforming an area of parkland inside Mackenzie Park into a winter wonderland in anticipation of the arrival of Santa Claus.

The vessel was named in honor of Trooper Jerry Don Davis, who was killed in October 1980 during a road stop on U.S. 84 just outside Slaton, about 15 miles southeast of Lubbock.

SPC Reese Center will be hosting the Tin Man VII Robot Competition. The competition will feature three robotic teams from the Levelland Campus, from Reese Center, and from Plainview.
