Walk to Help Pay Medical Bills

Despite a wet and chilly morning on Saturday, two communities came together in support of a Lubbock man who is still recovering after he was run over twice.

Saturday morning the Petersburg High School Student Council sponsored a walk to help pay for Bret Walrath's medical bills. And with umbrellas and raincoats, more than 100 supporters attended the benefit.

"A day like this after a football game where they get home at midnight just shows how they work hard and really care about people, and they're really a great bunch of kids. I think it just shows how our community cares about other people even though a lot of them didn't know Bret," says Randy Stutes, student council sponsor.
