With more than 51,000 fans in attendance at Jones SBC Stadium, about 44 of them were arrested for public intoxication.
Tech officials say security was a top priority at Saturday's game between Texas Tech and Texas A&M. State Troopers from the Department of Public Safety were on hand to arrest those who violated any Big 12 guidelines.
And following the Red Raiders 59 to 28 win, Tech officials were concerned the fans would get out of hand in celebration. The last time the Aggies and the Red Raiders played in Lubbock, the fans rushed the field and tore down the goal post, injuring dozens in a stadium brawl.
