Lubbock Post Office to move, notice says

Murray Hill Station, 4811 Louisville Avenue Murray Hill Station, 4811 Louisville Avenue

Lubbock residents in zip codes 79407 and 79414 are getting notifications this week in the mail that, "Your Post Office will be moving."

The lease on Midwest Station at 29th Drive and Marsha Sharp Freeway has expired, and the United States Post Office never got rid of the Murray Hill location at 4811 Louisville when it closed years ago.  So, Murray Hill will re-open on Tuesday but not as a full-service location.

Customers can use Murray Hill to pick up hold mail or certified mail.  And customers can also send mail from Murray Hill if it already has postage, but no stamps will be sold.

The most important function of Murray Hill will be to act as a mail carrier's annex, the place at which mail for 79407 and 79414 stops before it is delivered to people's homes.
