Alcohol and excessive speed may be to blame for a fatal rollover near Slaton early Tuesday morning.
According to the DPS troopers, 27-year-old Alberto Aila III apparently lost control of his vehicle on US 84, around 1:30 a.m. The car rolled several times and came to rest on the far side of the highway.
Avila was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the car. He was pronounced dead on arrival at University Medical Center.
