Friends and family packed into the Trinity Church Saturday to remember the life of Lubbock entertainer Donnie Allison. At 49, he lost his battle with cancer earlier this week. A memorial service Saturday afternoon was full of prayer, stories, and music.
More than 100 people packed Trinity Church to celebrate Allison's life. Those there celebrated his success in life through a tribute video called Donnie Allison's Concert of a Lifetime.
Friends say Lubbock lost a great entertainer and a great friend. "I knew Donnie when he first started playing. I was part of the group supporting him. He will be missed," said Doug Heisterkamp, who wanted to be a part of the tribute to Allison.
"I can't think about Donnie not smiling. He brought joy to all people he was around on the stage, in life he was a man who looked for joy in his life and found it," said Don Caldwell.
