Haley Walker's dream to help Joplin tornado victims came true Sunday

Posted: Updated:

Volunteers and a little 7-year-old girl headed out of town Sunday morning to take donations and support from the Hub City to those in Joplin. A few weeks ago Joplin was hit with a tornado that not only ripped through the town, but also killed 100s of people.

Haley Walker, a Joplin native, saw the devastation and says she felt she had to do something. Experience Life joined Haley's mission to help and Durham transportation donated a school bus.  In one week they collected enough items to almost fill two semi trailers and even the bus!

The organizer of the group, Haley Walker, says "It'll probably make them happy not sad anymore because they didn't have any shampoo or necklaces to wear"

"I'm actually inspired and I'm so proud of her that it's come this far. Amazed and in shock still." says Amber Walker who is Haley's mom.
