A Lubbock man will serve 10 years probation for intoxicated assault after a Lubbock jury handed down the sentence to Jeffrey D. Bartley Wednesday afternoon.
The sentencing stems from a DWI collision on May 7, 2000. That's when Bartley ran a stop sign on Avenue P and Regis Street. His Monte Carlo collided with a Ford Mustang. The impact threw
14-year-old Kassy Jasper from the Mustang. Her arm was nearly severed below the elbow and her jaw was broken.
Police say Bartley had a blood alcohol level of .17 at the time of the accident, which is more than twice the legal limit.
