Lubbock Joins State in Tracking Food Borne Illness

If something you eat makes you sick, the Health Department says they want to know about it.

On Friday, the Lubbock Health Department joined a statewide tracking system to detect food borne illnesses. The surveillance system will work by fielding consumer complaints and entering them in a database. The workers will then try to determine where the illness originated.

The system should be up and running in Lubbock by January.
