As we've been telling you this week, our 28th Annual CMN broadcast officially begins Saturday afternoon, although we opened the phone lines this evening on our news at 6:00.
About 100 people showed up for that live broadcast at UMC's Children's Hospital to check out the new set, and enjoy pizza with old friends. Volunteers were answering calls in the phone bank, and they took in more than $1,200 during that first half hour.
Our goal this year is to encourage folks to become a building partner. By pledging 15 dollars a month for 12 months, building partners will have their names permanently placed on a wall in the east tower. That new addition under is construction, and now will house a bigger and better neonatal intensive care unit with 43 private rooms. Ten of the rooms will designated for the most critically ill babies.
We hope you'll join us this weekend for the 28th Annual Children's Miracle Network broadcast, which starts at 3:00 on Saturday afternoon. You'll hear lots of new miracle stories. The CMN broadcast wraps up Sunday afternoon at 5:30. Of course, the phone lines are open now, and that number is 747-KIDS.
