Gov. Perry appoints David Miller to small business board

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Texas Tech Vice Chancellor David Miller to the Product Development and Small Business Incubator Board.

The five-member board advises the state's Economic Development Bank on the administration of the Product and Small Business Development funds.

Miller is vice chancellor of Research and Commercialization for the Texas Tech University System. He is also vice president of Omega Mission International and was past board chair of the National Institute for Renewable Energy and Living Abundantly Ministries.

Miller received a law degree and Master of Business Administration from Texas Tech University.

Miller is appointed for a term to expire Feb. 1, 2013. The terms of the three other newly-appointed board members  — Molly Jane Dahm of Beaumont, Ricardo ‘Ricky' Leal of Harlingen and Ejike Okpa of Dallas — expire Feb. 1, 2017. The term of the chair of the board, David Margrave of San Antonio, expires at the pleasure of the governor.
