Date of Lubbock Area Veterans War Memorial Dedication Set

The dedication service for the Lubbock Area Veterans War Memorial will take place December 7th, as a fitting tribute to the lives lost 62-years ago at Pearl Harbor.

Even though the dedication service is being moved back, construction of the memorial is actually one year ahead of schedule. Now Denver Blanscett, one of the organizers of the memorial, is issuing a new challenge. "I would like to put a challenge out to all area veterans to call in. We need to find the oldest veteran from World War 2, Korea, Vietnam, and the Persian Gulf." The phone number to call is (806) 794-9006.

The public, especially all veterans , are invited to attend the ceremony where special honors will be given to the winners of the challenge.
