Janelle Vanderlei will be graduating from Sudan High School. She is the daughter of Case and Piertsje Vanderlei. Janelle had been attending Sudan Schools since the second grade. She is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Amherst. During her high school career, Janelle has been actively involved in athletics, FCCLA, Texas 4-H, National Honor Society, Student Council, UIL Academics, and One Act Play. She was a part of the 2011 Regional Finalist basketball team. During her senior year, Janelle served as vice president of NHS and as Council Delegate of local 4-H club, was selected to be a member of the 2011-2012 Texas 4-H State Technology Team, and qualified for regionals in tennis mixed-doubles and editorial writing. Janelle has advanced to state in FCCLA and One Act Play twice and has received numerous, Best Actress, All-Star Cast, and Honorable Mention Cast Awards. In the fall, Janelle will be attending Belmont University in Nashville, TN and will be majoring in Entertainment Industry Studies.
