Fire sparks at old Lubbock landfill

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Flames ignited at the old, Lubbock landfill Thursday evening.  The fire sparked around 6:30 p.m., sending smoke into the sky.

The landfill is located near Interstate 27 and Farm to Market Road 1294.  Crews from Lubbock, New Deal, and Shallowater responded to douse the flames.
