Country music star to perform at benefit concert

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Richie McDonald, the former lead singer of the award winning country band Lonestar, is performing in Lubbock. The performance is a benefit concert for Cindy Hughlett Music Ministry.

The concert will be at 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 22nd at the Lubbock Civic Center Theater.

Richie McDonald has long been one of music's most accomplished and wide-ranging talents. Recognized as one of country's best singers, he was the face and voice of Lonestar.  He is the voice behind such popular songs as Amazed, My Front Porch Looking In, and I'm Already There.

Cindy Hughlett will be hosting the event.  Hughlett is an Inspirational Country Artist/Songwriter, having charted in the top 10 nationally on Christian Voice, PowerSource, Christian Gospel Connection, and SMS Music Services with "Soar"charting #1 in November 2010.  Cindy was chosen for the 2010 Country Gospel Connection Choice Award for Female Vocalist of the Year.

David House will be co-hosting the event.  House is a Christian Country Artist/Songwriter, having charted several songs on various national charts.  David's ministry includes Emmaus, Cowboy Churches, and other venues across the country.

Two Lubbock natives will be special guest of the event. They are two 14 years old performers Tori Forbess and Abbie Layne Rose.
