Coronado baseball advances to state title game

The Coronado Mustangs advanced to the Class 5-A state title game Friday. The Coronado Mustangs advanced to the Class 5-A state title game Friday.
ROUND ROCK, TX (KCBD) -

The Coronado Mustangs advanced to the Class 5-A state title game with a 10-0 win over the defending state champion Corpus Christi Carroll Lions. Coronado starting pitcher Taylor Bridges pitched all five innings of the 10-run-ruled game, allowing just one hit.

The only time in Coronado school history the Mustangs played for the title in baseball was 1995, in a 6-0 losing effort against Fort Bend Elkins. The 'Stangs now move on to face Brazoswood at Dell Diamond in Round Rock at noon Saturday.
