(LUBBOCK, TX - KCBD) - Head coach of the Lady Raiders, Kristy Curry, is leading a series of basketball camps July 6-15 to teach the future women's basketball stars of tomorrow. Under coach Curry and her staff's watchful eyes, girls in grades 6-12 are afforded the opportunity to improve their on-the-court skills in the SAQ Position Camp.
"It's a great opportunity for the kids to learn how to be a point guard, a forwards, and a post," said the fifth-year head coach. "It's a great all-around camp for a player to become better in the summer, take these things they learned home with them and get better."
Not only do the campers get the attention of Curry and her staff, they also get one-on-one instruction from the Lady Raiders themselves.
"They've all been in camps as they've grown up to be the player they've become, and it's just a great opportunity for [our team], for them to be teaching. A lot of them want to go into coaching, so it's a good experience for them.
Coach Curry is coming off her most successful season at Texas Tech, leading the Lady Raiders to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2005.
