Legislation Makes Way for El Paso Medical School

A bill signed by Texas Governor Rick Perry has cleared the way for a new branch of the Texas Tech Medical Center. The new medical school would be located in El Paso. It will be the ninth in the state, but the first along the border.

The bill also includes authorization for Texas Tech to sell $45-million in tuition revenue bonds. Construction on the new facility could begin late next year.
