On Wednesday, the Plainview Chamber of Commerce announced that they have decided to reschedule their 4th of July fireworks show. It is now scheduled for September 16th. Organizers issued the following news release about the change.
The Plainview Chamber of Commerce along with the City of Plainview has made the decision in the best interest of our community and its residents and on the advice of fire officials to forgo the Fireworks on the 4th due to our current drought conditions. We are excited to be able to reschedule our Plainview Fireworks in conjunction with our community recognition of our "First Responders" and along with the celebration of Cowboys Days.
The decision was made with consideration to the safety concerns of our residents, their homes and our businesses. The Chamber is excited to be able to offer an alternate day and to connect with a very meaningful event on September 16. The Chamber and City CVB and our Hale County Dairy Families encourage you to participate in Red, White and Moo July 4th activities at Broadway Park.
