FLOYDADA, TX -

Three homes are a total loss. Firefighters are working to keep a fire in a Floydada neighborhood from spreading. It started shortly after 9 p.m. on West Missouri Street.

Authorities on the scene confirm that three homes are completely engulfed in flames. Officials are evacuating residents on the street as a precaution.

Firefighters are concerned that high winds might spread the flames. Meteorologist Cary Allen said wind gusts in Floydada at the time reached 62 mph.

Pictures from the scene sent by a KCBD photojournalist show large flames. DPS Troopers are on the scene to assist if more evacuation are needed. Firefighters from Matador, Ralls, Lockney, and Dougherty are assisting Floydada crews.

A cause of the fire is still under investigation. It's not clear if there are any injuries.
