Lubbock Rapist Sentenced to Time in Prison

Twenty-three year-old Carlos Ferrer was sentenced to 35 years in prison Friday, for the rape of a 15-year-old Slaton girl on the tailgate of a pickup.

Ferrer was accidentally released from jail in August just days before his original trial date. The Lubbock County Sheriff's Office declared it a clerical error.

Ferrer was found a week later at an east Lubbock home.
