New Chair of the House Agriculture Committee in Town

The "19th District Farmers' Forum" was held at the Merket Alumni Center Saturday evening.  Congressman Randy Neugebauer brought the new chairman of the House Agriculture Committee to West Texas Saturday to meet with farmers from within the 19th District.  Representative Bob Goodlatte recently took the reins of the Ag Committee after Congressman Larry Combest retired. Goodlatte said he was eager to visit the area and hear from farmers in the district after hearing so much about the area from Neugebauer.

Representativ Randy Neugebauer, US House of Representatives, "Part of being a member of the Congress is you are a Representative and we serve in the House of Representatives and the Chairman and I want to hear what's imporatant to farm families in West Texas."

Neugebauer and Goodlatte visited a couple gins and a peanut plant while in the area.  Neugebauer says the chairman was very impressed with the agriculture in West Texas.
