The Legacy Play Village celebrates its one year anniversary with a play-ground party. The community-built playground was designed and built one year ago by 10,000 volunteers. More than just a playground, the play village is a historical marker of the south plains that attracts visitors from all over the state. Saturday people gathered to play and reunite with other volunteers who helped make this dream possible.
Julia Camp, Board Member, Legacy Play Village, "There are some volunteers that were out here last year building next to each other and now they're out here again and every one's hugging and it's a good sight."
But the hard work at the play village isn't over yet.
Craig Finlayson, Chairman, Legacy Play Village, "I think you're gonna see more trees, you're gonna see this dirt area that you're almost standing in to be what we consider our waters area which is part of an agricultural playground, kind of has an agricultural theme, which all of this park has a historical, legacy, West Texas theme to it."
