Police were called out to a collision on Sunday evening involving a car and a pole. It happened just after 6:00 p.m.

Police say the 33 year-old female driver of the van was traveling south on Avenue P when, for some reason, she lost control and crashed into a pole near 27th St.

Emergency workers had to use the jaws of life to pull the driver from her vehicle. She was transported to University Medical Center with moderate injuries.
