Visit Lubbock officially launched a new mobile website Monday to provide visitors with streamlined information and easy navigation fit for today's on-the-go lifestyle.
Mobile users of the site can easily find out what's around them, use the enhanced GPS system to help them find a destination or simply search for places to eat, play, stay or shop.
"As a visitor you want information and generally when you need it - you need it right then," VisitLubbock.org President, John Osborne said.
The site can also give you quick directions to any Lubbock location.
"This is a huge leap for Lubbock," Lubbock Councilman, Todd Klein said. Initial discussion of Lubbock tourism surrounded ideas of information kiosks, and a visitor center but Klein says the new mobile website was a much better move for Lubbock.
"Its way more cost efficient and I think its a great tool for our community," Klein explained.
