Wilson Fire Department receives new fire truck

WILSON, TX (KCBD) -

On Monday, the Wilson VFD took delivery of a brand new Ford F-750 Large Brush truck. The truck was purchased and manufactured locally at Daco Fire of Lubbock and will replace the current truck that has been in service since the ‘80s.

The new truck boasts several improvements, including cages to allow firefighters to safely ride and fight grass fires from the truck and a remote monitor ozzle located on the front to allow firefighting from inside the truck cab.

The truck purchase was made possible through donations from the Wilson community,  First Bank and Trust and state funds available through the HB2604 Grant that will reimburse the department 90 percent of the total of the new truck.
