Intersection Near Shallowater to Close - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

Shallowater residents take note starting Tuesday some motorists will have to find an alternate route. The Texas Department of Transportation is shutting down the intersection of US 84 and Avenue L due to safety concerns. In the past six months, at least 20 accidents have occurred at that intersection and the intersection of US 84 and Loop 388.

TX-Dot decided to leave the Loop 388 intersection open, but the speed limit will be permanently lowered to 50.
