LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -
They are made from cotton grown right here on the South Plains. For the first time, Saturday, a new line of collegiate inspired jeans hit Lubbock store shelves.
The Plains Cotton Cooperative Association's line of varsity jeans bear the Texas Tech Double T logo. The Tech jeans are the first in the collegiate line to be sold. Other university logos will eventually make it on to shelves.
PCCA Director of Legislative Affairs John Johnson said all of the jeans are made from local cotton and processed in Littlefield. "It is supporting our local economy, our local farmers and our employees at the denim mill. It's all about making money for our farmers."
The jeans are sewn at the PCCA plant in Guatemala.
Women's styles come in a boot cut with a light denim wash and a dark denim skinny jean. Men's jeans come in a modern and classic fit. Jean shorts are also available.
They are available at Red Raider Outfitter at 6th Street and University Avenue and also the Broadway location.
