A warning from Lubbock police after a fatal accident on Wednesday morning. Authorities are asking drivers to slow down after the city's 25th fatal wreck of the year. That surpasses the total number of fatal accidents from last year.
At around 5:15 Wednesday morning, police say 20-year-old Candace Ashley was driving at a high rate of speed, when she lost control of her car and crashed into a concrete culvert in the 4200 block of East 50th Street.
The Texas Tech freshman was taken to University Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
