Lorenzo Flores, who was wanted in connection with the robbery of United and the assault on a DPS Trooper, turned himself in this morning at the Lubbock Police Department. He is currently being held at the Lubbock County Jail.

DPS says Trooper Katrina Jones was off duty working security for the United Supermarket on 4ths and Slide when she spotted a man trying to shoplift and confronted him as he walked out the store.

"When she confronted the Hispanic male at the door to take him back into the store to talk to him, he turned around with one of the items and struck her in the face," said John Gonzales, Lubbock DPS public information officer.

Jones received cuts on her face when her glasses broke from the hit. Flores then ran off and jumped the fence behind United, Gonzales said.
