Lubbock City Council candidate raises more than $11,000

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The Lubbock City Council election may be more than nine months away, but one candidate is already raising a decent amount of money. Randy Sanders announced his candidacy for the district 6 seat back in March, but now he has more than $11,000 for his campaign.

Jim Gilbreath represents that district currently and has said he will not seek another term. To date, no one else has come forward to announce their bid for the seat.

The next city council election is scheduled for May of 2012.
