Future Red Raider Yang Yue Hill fired a 1-over (73) at The Course at Rawls Thursday to remain in contention, in sixth place, at the AJGA Lubbock Junior golf tournament.

Hill, a high school senior from Palm Desert, Ca., finished her solid round with birdies in her last two holes to stay within eight shots of the overall leader Jordan Ferreira.

"I didn't play as well as I could've today," said Hill. "Obviously I can't read the greens here, so I have four years to figure them out."

As for her future school and home course, her reviews seemed much more positive.

"I love the course...the people here and the college:it's amazing. I like everything about [Texas Tech]."

As for the boys division, three Frenship Tigers are also playing in the three-day tournament.

Chad Meador is 11 shots off the lead going into the final round with a 2-over(tied for 26th) for the tournament; Jack Vanderburg sits at plus-five(tied for 42nd) after two rounds; and Jace Foster is tied for 63rd at 14-over par.

Friday's final round tees off at 8am, with the final ceremonies at 3pm at The Course at Rawls.
