Lubbock Children Celebrate Halloween A Day Early

NewsChannel 11 found many kids breaking in their costumes a day early. Kids five and under joined the Early Childhood PTA at Carillon Thursday afternoon. The kids were invited to participate in trick or treating and visit with the seniors.

Meanwhile, kids at Tubbs Elementary participated in a festive fundraiser to benefit the United Way. Students were challenged to guess the weight of a pumpkin for twenty-five cents-a-try. Cameron Stover was the lucky winner, and got to take the ninety-three pound pumpkin home as a prize. So far, Tubbs has raised more than $1500 for the United Way.

And even NewsChannel 11's Burt Mummolo took some time out Thursday to check out the haunts at University Medical Center. Various departments participated in a Halloween decorating contest, and Burt assisted in the judging. The Facilities Department gave everyone a run for their money, and they took home the prize.
