Scurry County officials can declare that a fire that began on Saturday night is now officially out. The fire started around a windmill farm on Hwy. 84 near Fluvanna the cause of the fire was due to a downed powerline.
As of Sunday, it was reported that 40 percent of the fire was contained and had burned around 3,000 acres. The fire threatened over a 100 homes, but it was also confirmed that no structures had burned.
