Guess who's getting into the Halloween spirit so much that they want all your candy?
In fact, they're opening their doors on Saturday just to buy the treats you collected on Friday night. You see, Dr. Wentz and Dr. Reeves are in the business of making pretty smiles. And as orthodontists, they say candy is counter-productive. Actually, they're hoping to collect a certain kind of candy, but they're willing to buy back all your sweet treats for $1.00 a pound.
Dr. Wentz says that kids should stay away from the hard, sticky and chewy kinds of candy such as caramels and hard candies. The day after Halloween a lot of their main emergencies come in because some of the kids have those candies.
Dr. Wentz adds that the days following Halloween are usually the busiest time of the year for orthodontists because of an increase in emergency calls.
You can drop off your candy at Dr. Wentz's office at 4013 84th St. on Saturday from 10 a.m. until Noon. All the candy you bring in will be turned over to the South Plains Food Bank just in time for the Thanksgiving holidays.
